1.Cap Space for 09-010 alot of money to spend for somebody we need
2.Devolping a starting point gaurd in Rodney Stuckey future of the pistons
3.Signed Mcydess for a cheaper contract from 6.7 mill to 680,000
4.To have a really good big named player off the bench
Im sick of everybody saying the pistons are stupid cuz they did this trade and now their going to suck and Dumars is stupid

You make very valid points. I think the average fan is only looking at the short term repercussions. In the short term, it was the wrong move to make, hands down. Billups was and is a very good player, you got to put him in the top 5 point guards for both his defense and offense. Iverson might be in the top 8 in his position. Here's the thing, where does Iverson fit in when it comes to the pistons. His playing style and his defense(or lack there of) doesn't appear to represent what we know as the Pistons.
I got sidetracked. Back to the points you made, I totally agree with you that this was a great trade. I look at the long-term potential, and my friend the future looks bright and I'm don't even consider myself a Pistons fan. I'm a Spurs fanboy.
