How come basketball players don't use the sky hook shot anymore?
Because many people don't know how to properly utilize it, and thus they don't end up teaching younger kids the fundamentals of it. and apparently it looks way to old school. Basketball is about winning regardless how people may look and I personally don't think its ugly at all. It's a very graceful weapon and its effective
Abdul-Jabbar concedes "it's not a macho shot," and realized it was going out of style even when he first learned it in the 1950s. But he doesn't understand the reluctance of the modern-day player to incorporate it into his game.
